Before your pickup
Materials we cannot take
A few materials are regulated and cannot ride on our trucks. Tell us in advance and we will point you to the right facility.
The list
Hazardous materials
Anything labeled flammable, corrosive, toxic or reactive.
Liquid paint
Wet paint, stains and solvents. Dried-out latex cans may be accepted — ask us first.
Chemicals, oils and fuels
Pesticides, pool chemicals, motor oil, gasoline, kerosene and propane fuel.
Asbestos
Any suspected asbestos insulation, siding, tile or pipe wrap needs a licensed abatement contractor.
Medical and biological waste
Sharps, medication, lab or clinical waste, and human or animal waste.
Ammunition and explosives
Ammunition, fireworks, flares and gun powder.
Full propane tanks
Tanks must be empty with the valve removed. Full or partially full tanks stay behind.
Bed bugs and biological contamination
Furniture with active bed bugs, mold saturation or biological contamination requires specialty handling.
Anything requiring special handling
If a material needs a permit, manifest or licensed handler, we cannot take it on a standard pickup.
What this means for your booking
When you book, you declare that your items do not contain these materials. If we find them on site, we may have to refuse the pickup, and the deposit is retained to cover the trip.
